Understanding Sexual Concerns
Sexual health is an integral part of most people's overall well-being and quality of life. However, many individuals experience sexual difficulties that can lead to worry, frustration, performance anxiety, or a sense of disconnection from themselves and their partners.
Â
Whether these concerns stem from sexual desires/preferences, experiences with partners, physical health conditions, medications, past personal experiences, beliefs about intimacy, anxiety, emotional factors, sexual trauma, or any other cause, seeking support is a positive step toward growth and forms of intimacy that feel healthy for you and the ones you love. We value diverse forms of intimacy and love, and we offer a nonjudgmental space to discuss sexual preferences, patterns, wants, needs, challenges, and values.

Common Areas of Concern
Low sexual desire, low sexual enjoyment, or loss of interest in intimacy.
Difficulties with arousal or achieving/maintaining orgasm.
Pain or physical discomfort during sexual activity.
Performance anxiety and pressure to meet expectations.
Impact of chronic health conditions or medical treatments.
Impact of STIs and/or STI treatments.
Navigating the emotional impact of past traumatic experiences.
Shame, guilt, or other stigmatizing thoughts/beliefs about intimacy.
Body image concerns contributing to embarrassment, guardedness, or withdrawal.
Challenges with, or breakdowns in, sexual communication.

Sexual compulsions, habits, or addictions (e.g., excessive pornography use).
How Isaacs Psychology Can Help
We provide a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space where you can explore the thoughts, emotions, and beliefs that impact your sexual and romantic wellbeing. Our approach is grounded in evidence-based psychological therapies tailored to individuals (such as CBT and sensate focus techniques). In this context, these strategies are collectively known as sex therapy.Â
Â
Together, we use sex therapy to address underlying worries and unhelpful beliefs (or expectations) about intimacy, to facilitate helpful communication, to address barriers to healthy intimacy, to improve your confidence, to troubleshoot unhealthy habits and patterns, and to develop practical strategies to enhance your sexual health and overall relationship with yourself and your partner(s).

Isaacs Psychology is an inclusive environment which values diverse sexual and gender orientations, identities, and expressions. We actively work with clients in 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

Note: While Isaacs Psychology supports individuals navigating sexual or relationship concerns, please be aware that we do not provide couples therapy services at the current time.
